The oldest programme covering European economic law in Scandinavia provides an in-depth understanding with both of practical and theoretical aspects of European economic law and the operation of the rules of the European market in a global context. The programme provides a solid foundation in the EU constitutional framework, which underpins the regulation of the European market. Students are able to tailor the programme to suit their interests and future career through specialisation, in particular during the second year of the programme.
Courses in the 2-year programme:
- Compulsory courses (with a number of credits, in total 75): EU Constitutional Law (12), Business Negotiations (3), Internal Market Law (12), Argumentation and Methodology (3), EU Competition Law (15), Master’s thesis (30).
- Elective courses (in total 45 credits) in areas such as competition law, IP law, tax law, the law in the digital age and the European Law Moot Court Competition, etc.
Courses in the 1-year programme: EU Constitutional Law (12), Business Negotiations (3), Internal Market Law (12), Argumentation and Methodology (3), EU Competition Law (15), Master’s thesis (15).
With a unique combination of traditional legal studies in EU business law (i.e. the law of the internal market, tax law and competition law) and economic- and trade-related issues, this programme is ideal preparation for a career within private practice, national/EU institutions, or legal research. It also provides an excellent basis for students interested in pursuing an academic career.
