When human rights are violated by a particular state or society, is it more effective to use national, regional or international human rights protection mechanisms to address the issue? And how do different political, social and cultural settings affect the workings of these mechanisms? These questions are a main topic in our Advanced Master programme Law in European and International Human Rights.

This programme examines how to approach some of the greatest challenges and opportunities for law, policy and social norms as mechanisms to address health and wellbeing.

It leads to deepening fundamental knowledge in international and European law, and prepares for further study more specialized in Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

The Master 2 Law of Freedoms - Practices of international and regional human rights law is a training program agreed with the Faculty of Law of the University of Grenoble-Alpes.

The SOAS LLM in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice provides a specialisation in a constantly evolving area of law that covers a range of issues at the heart of major contemporary developments and debates. This programme offers a wide range of distinctive modules that combine a focus on core subjects in the field alongside a critical inquiry into the theory and practice of human rights law and related fields, particularly as they relate to the global South.
