Course Overview
This well-established distance learning programme in Business Law has been designed for business executives and professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds and organisations. We are also delighted to now be offering the option to study for the International Business Law LLM.

Course Structure
The course commences with an induction weekend in Leicester which takes place on 13th-14th September 2019, and the Core Module, (worth 30 credits) is then studied from September 2019 through to the end of December 2019 and is assessed by written coursework.
From January to December 2020, students choose two 30 credit modules or one 30 and two 15 credit modules (giving a total of 90 credits for the first year of study).
In the second year, January to December 2021, students take either one 30 credit module or two 15 credit modules and write a 15,000 word dissertation on a topic of their choice on a legal issue within the context of business law.

L.P.C. Graduates
Students who have an L.P.C. can apply to proceed directly onto year two of the programme to gain the full LLM qualification.

The Accelerated Route
Students can undertake to do the course following the Accelerated Route and complete their LLM in 15 months. Students will enrol in September 2019 along with the other students on the programme and study the Core Module until the end of December 2019. Accelerated Route students will then undertake to study all of their modules and write their dissertation within the remaining 12 months (January to December 2020). This is a very intensive but rewarding route and successful students will graduate with their LLM at the end of 15 months. Accelerated Route students are supported through the allocation of a special director of studies who will provide additional support and advice during their studies.
Optional Study Days
The course commences with an optional induction weekend on 13th and 14th September 2019 at Leicester De Montfort Law School. After that, there are a number of further optional study components throughout the course. The Induction Weekend is intended to assist students in their choice of optional modules, allow meetings with course tutors and fellow students and provide useful introductory sessions especially for those students who do not have a degree in law or some other relevant legal qualification. The other sessions will concentrate on additional areas that will be useful to students throughout their studies. These additional sessions will be offered through a combination of face to face and webinar format.
